Hilary joined SHiFT as Head of Practice & Learning in May. Most recently, Hilary has been working in Youth Custody Services, supporting children in YOIs to maintain meaningful family ties whilst in custody. 

Before training as a systemic psychotherapist, Hilary was a social worker in child protection teams in the London Boroughs of Ealing and Newham, spending time in a specialist domestic abuse team and in an adolescent exploitation team. In her words, she has "always felt strongly about how we work with children and young people experiencing extra-familial harm and how important it is to not give up when things are challenging".
